Stop and Go Bag

This 12"x13" bag is made from salvaged poly-cotton in blue (front panel) and blue plaid (back panel and interior lining). Comes with interior pocket and snap fastener. The Stop and Go appliques are actually vintage flash cards sewn into pieces of my former red-striped plastic raincoat. Strap is a red silk necktie with blue polka dots. I also added four large, shiny sequins to the top of the front panel. Why? Because it makes the bag look better, silly! Wearing this bag feels like being in kindergarten.
Inspired by frequent trips to thrift shops, realizing that most hand-me-downs are not likely to be worn as orignally intended, and cringing at the thought of so much time, energy, and durable material being laid to waste in clothing whose style has expired, these items are my attempt to give cloth derelicts another chance. All materials (except for thread) are purchased from thrift stores, selected from bags of hand-me-downs, or salvaged from scrap bins. Fabric reworked into these bags has been selected based upon its cleanliness, durability, and intriging design. Needless to say, all items are one of a kind! If so desired, buyers from the GTA may personally pick up their purchases to avoid shipping costs. Gift wrapping and hand-lettered gift tag is included by request, free of charge.
