Description:
ScooToronto will be sending a team to this year`s Lake Erie Loop rally to benefit the Aluminum Cans for Burned Children Foundation. This event is a 1,000km race around Lake Erie with a start and finish in Wellington, Ohio. The route is west through Ohio and Michigan, crossing the border in Detroit then east to cross the border again in Fort Erie before returning to the staging point. Totally Scooters will be providing us with a support vehicle and trailer. Brian will be following us on the trip down and will be able to carry some of your camping gear, making for a more comfortable ride. If you wish to drop off your gear ahead of time, contact Brian at 416-77-SCOOT to make the arrangements. On race day, Brian will be patrolling the route and will be available by cell phone to assist in the event of a breakdown. Team ScooToronto will ride out as a group to the staging area. We will meet at Totally Scooters on Thursday morning and take back roads through Niagara Region to cross the border at the Peace Bridge and arrive at the campground late Thursday afternoon. We will leave the campground Sunday morning, arriving in Toronto late Sunday afternoon. A few notes about this event: Due to time constraints and safety issues, the group ride to the staging area will be limited to scooters that can sustain at least 80km/h. If you are riding a slower machine or if you plan to transport it by trailer, we will be happy to assist with routing and to meet enroute during one of our stops. The race is not for the faint of heart. The course will take between 12 and 24 hours to complete depending on the speed of your ride; if you are riding a 150 expect to be on the road for approximately 15 hours on Saturday. The event fee will vary depending on the options chosen. The $90 amount is based on the $50 registration fee, camping at $25 for the weekend, and meals for $15. Full details on rates and options are posted to the event website.
