
With a belief that education is the key to providing children in developing countries with the skills, the tools and the knowledge to conquer disease, poverty, gender inequality and other barriers to success, the More Than Me Foundation is hosting a fundraiser February 11, 2011. The More Than Me Foundation empowers youngsters, especially young women, to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Founded by Katie Meyler, the More Than Me Foundation is a Washington D.C.-based non-profit organization with a mission to provide education to children in countries facing severe poverty.Its fundraising efforts over the past two years have allowed it to provide scholarships for children in Liberia, West Africa.
The fundraiser will include live music by local artists including singer-songwriter M.J. Cyr. Cyr has performed several live shows in Toronto and has also toured Canada, the United States and New Zealand. She is best known for her two EPs, "The Bottom Line" and "Ladders."
