
On now through September 5, 2011, the water exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is a new, interactive display exploring the world’s most precious natural resource. With a variety of enriching exhibitions like the water exhibit each year, the ROM is constantly providing visitors with new and exciting sights to experience. Water: The Exhibition is one of the latest to join the museum.
An educational experience for visitors of any age, this exhibition incorporates cutting-edge technology, multimedia installations, hands-on displays, live animals and cultural artifacts in an attempt to demonstrate the importance of water, the role it plays in the world and the vital need to protect it.
Divided into 10 sections, this engaging exhibition looks at water from a scientific, environmental and cultural perspective. The first sections look at the physical and chemical properties of water, other sections delve into the cultural aspects of water and how humans manipulate water resources, and the final sections look at the impact our actions have on water and how we can all reduce water usage and help renew and protect it. All of these sections provide visitors a well-rounded explanation of the role, impact and importance of water that surrounds us.
Explore walk-through dioramas, interactive technology and touchable displays and animals as you learn how water is the one essential resource that links everything in the world. Exhibition highlights include: 12 live creature displays, 19 interactive experiences, Healthy Water section, several detailed dioramas and animal specimens, water family programming and much more.
